This year’s celebration felt extra special as we gathered in-person to recognize those who have dedicated their careers to the Shaw Centre. It was fantastic to see everyone, mix and mingling, as opposed little boxes featured on the video calls that we used to keep our business moving forward as much as it could over the course of the past two years. It was a challenging time for the hospitality industry, but we’re ecstatic to see many familiar faces returning to the centre as normal business volumes resume.
In 2021 we received the International Association of Conference Centres (AIPC) APEX award for “World’s Best Convention Centre” The award is granted every two years in recognition of the highest rating on client surveys received by a convention centre. It is based on a comprehensive analysis of the centre’s performance based on customer satisfaction surveys. Each and every one of our staff played an essential role in receiving this award, and it’s truly a testament to the exceptional customer service provided by each department. Our team’s dedication to excellence never goes unnoticed. Therefore, we wanted to take the time to extend our gratitude and recognize their efforts.
The Long-Term Service Award Program was launched in 1999 to thank employees who have been with us for five years or more. This program is a valuable component of our extensive employee recognition efforts. It allows us to honour experienced members of the Shaw Centre team for their knowledge and ongoing contribution to the achievements and success of our business. Since 2011, we’ve distributed over 160 awards to our dedicated employees.
Our senior management team gathered in the centre’s CrEATe Kitchen for a joyous occasion that honoured 20 long-term employees who completed 5, 10, 15, 20, and 25 years with the centre. Handing out these awards gave us a great sense of pride in our employees who helped us achieve the title of the Best Convention Centre in the world!
2022 Annual Long-Term Service Awards Recipients:
